Shaun Vivaris is an award-winning filmmaker from New York, where he was mentored by the late great Sol Stein. He is currently based in Los Angeles.
With the goal of breaking Asian American stereotypes by putting AAPIs at the front of fresh, genre-blending narratives, his work has screened at international festivals including Cinequest, SciFi London, Visionfest NY, PAAFF and is a recipient of the Canal+ Award from France’s Tres Court Film Festival. He is an alumnus of VC’s Armed with a Camera directing fellowship.
Shaun's first feature film LISA MANIA, produced in partnership with Visual Communications and SP Film Production, had its world premiere at the 37th Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival.
His crime thriller short, BRONX PARK THUNDER is currently in festivals and recently won Best Uptown Narrative at the 2024 Harlem International Film Festival.
When he's not working, Shaun can be found at the bowling alley trying to perfect his spin.
